YOU NEED TO KNOW
Varsity Soccer will have early dismissal at 2:00 today for their conference tournament game.

C3 meeting Thursday in the computer lab (4205) 2nd lunch.

SNHS signups are available for our Wednesday the 12th activities during lunch and after school.  See the sign up sheets outside of Mrs. Townsend's room.  Space is limited

Spirit week winners will be announced during the Pep Rally.  No collar winners will celebrate beginning Oct 10th.  The prizes are as follows:
  • 1st place- 4 no collar days
  • 2nd place- 3 no collar days
  • 3rd place- 2 no collar days
  • 4th place- 1 no collar day

No Collar Days
Seniors 10/10-10/13
Juniors 10/11-10/13
Sophomores 10/12-10/13
Freshmen 10/13
Shirts do not have to have a collar on these days but must adhere to all  other guidelines listed in the dress code.  All other clothing items must follow dress code guidelines.

Chromebooks:  If you have any issues with your Chromebook please email the IT department at chromebooks@hgchristian.org

Charging Station:  Is available in the high school office.

  • First use no consequence
  • Second use lunch detention assigned
  • Third use lunch detention assigned
  • Fourth and above after school detention assigned
  • Consistently forgetting to bring chromebook fully charged to school may result in more severe consequences.

Early Dismissals
Tuesday, October 10:
Varsity Soccer 2:00

MAC Tournaments
Varsity Men's Soccer received a bye for the first round of the MAC Tournament and will play in the second round on Tuesday at 5:00pm at Gaston Christian School (opponent TBD). Varsity Women's Tennis will play in the MAC Tournament on Wednesday at Gaston Christian School. The tournament will be an all day event beginning at 8:00am, and the team will leave campus at 7:00am.



Fall Senior Night
This Friday, October 14 is Senior Night for fall sports! The HGCS Athletic Department and AAA Booster Club will recognize senior athletes for all fall teams during halftime of the Varsity Football game, which starts at 7:00pm. Senior athletes and senior parents will receive additional information regarding Senior Night instructions in the coming weeks.

Pink Night at Varsity Football
Varsity Football plays Christ School at home this Friday, October 14 at 7:00pm! The theme for the game is Pink Night in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students who wear pink to the game will be admitted for just $1!

Winter Sports Sign-Ups
Sign-ups for winter sports tryouts will begin on Monday, October 10 and run through Thursday, October 13. Students can sign up in the HS/MS Office, in the Athletic Office, or online: Winter Sports Sign-Ups. Tryouts will be held the week of October 31. All students must turn in all athletic forms (Athletic Physical Form, Athletic Participation Agreement, Athletic Medical Forms Packet) to the coach or athletic trainer on the first day of tryouts.

Winter Sports Informational Meeting
An informational meeting for all students and parents interested in winter sports (basketball, cheerleading, swimming) at Hickory Grove Christian School will be held on Monday, October 17 at 6:30pm in Room 3012 (Education Center Basement). The meeting will cover tryouts, required paperwork, policies, expectations, and specific team information.

Winter Sports Tryouts
All students must turn in ALL athletic forms to the coach or athletic trainer on the first day of tryouts. Students who do not turn in all athletic forms will not be allowed to participate in tryouts. Athletic forms include the Athletic Physical Form, Athletic Participation Agreement, and Athletic Medical Forms Packet.
  • VARSITY MEN'S BASKETBALL - October 31 & November 1, 2:45-5:30pm, Gym B (joint tryouts with JV Boys' Basketball)
  • VARSITY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - October 31 & November 1, 4:15-6:00pm, Gym A
  • JV BOYS' BASKETBALL - October 31 & November 1, 2:45-5:30pm, Gym B (joint tryouts with Varsity Men's Basketball)
  • MS BOYS' BASKETBALL - October 31, November 1, & November 3, 2:45-4:15pm, Gym C
  • MS GIRLS' BASKETBALL - October 31 & November 1, 2:45-4:15pm, Gym A
  • SWIMMING - November 1 (HS only), November 3 (HS & MS), & November 4 (HS & MS), 3:00-4:30pm at Simmons YMCA - bus transportation will be provided and will leave campus at 2:45pm. Each swimmer must attend 2 days of tryouts. Sign up for your tryout days with Coach McFarland. MS swimmers may only attend Thursday and Friday tryouts.
  • VARSITY CHEERLEADING - No winter tryouts - roster is full.
  • MS CHEERLEADING - November 1, 3:00-5:30pm, FLC Room 4106 (aerobics room)

Fall Varsity Sports Banquet
The end-of-season awards banquet for fall varsity athletes will be held on Monday, November 7 at 6:30pm in Gyms A/B. We will recognize each varsity team and announce team award recipients. Dinner will be served at the banquet. All fall varsity athletes and their parents are invited to attend.
