Celebrating Black History Month
During the month of February we will have several activities to celebrate Black History Month.
- Beginning Friday, February 10th Mr. Coltrane will be holding an African American seminar in his room second lunch. Join him as he discusses the rich history of African Americans. The seminars will be held every Friday the month of February beginning next Friday.

- Consistently forgetting to bring chromebook fully charged to school may result in more severe consequences.
Clubs:
SNHS February 15th meeting is "Lunch and a Movie" during both Smart Lunch I and II in Mrs. Townsend's room. Sign-ups are outside of her door...25 students maximum.
Volunteers are needed for a Science Night at Albemarle Road Elementary School on Monday, February 13. See Mrs. Townsend for details.

ATHLETICS
Pre-season conditioning for Varsity Track will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday beginning February 7 from 2:45 to 4:15 at the football field. Athletes must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Trainer and must bring a towel or yoga mat, an exercise band with soft handles, and a watch.
Varsity Track tryouts have been changed to Tuesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 23 from 3:00 to 4:30. Tryouts will not be held on Wednesday, February 22. Once tryouts have concluded, regular team practice will begin Friday, February 24.
MAC Tournament Basketball Games Tuesday
Our Varsity Women's and Varsity Men's Basketball teams will host first round games for the MAC Tournament this Tuesday! Our Varsity Women will play Gaston Christian at home at 5:30, and our Varsity Men will play Northside at home at 7:00. Be here to support the Lions as they begin post-season play in the conference tournament! Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for students, and free for kids 8 & under. AAA Booster Club passes will not be accepted for tournament games. GO LIONS!
Varsity Women's Soccer Workouts
Varsity Women's Soccer will have voluntary workouts beginning February 7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:30. Workouts will be held for the next two weeks leading up to tryouts, which begin February 20.
Varsity Track Workouts
Varsity Track will have pre-season conditioning workouts beginning February 7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:15. Workouts will be held for the next two weeks leading up to tryouts, which begin February 21. Winter Sports Banquet
The Winter Sports Banquet for our Varsity teams will be held on Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30pm in Gyms A & B. All Varsity winter athletes and their parents are invited to attend. Dinner will be served and team awards will be announced at the banquet.
