This is the last week for 11th and 12th grade honor student to join Rho Kappa. Students must pay their dues by Friday and new members must submit signed application forms. See Mrs. Davis if you have any questions.


Juniors (Class ring):
If I emailed you last week about your class ring, don’t forget, Herff Jones will be here Wednesday during lunch in rooms 1111/1112 to deliver your ring.  You will only receive your ring if it is paid in full.


Are you interested in broadcasting?:
Anyone interested in a career in broadcasting? The athletic department is looking for a high school student who is interested in announcing and playing music at athletic events.  If you are interested in a career in broadcasting this would be a good place to start!

LACK OF DEMERIT REWARD:
The class with the least amount of demerits at the end of the 1st quarter will be awarded 3 free t-shirt days.  Here’s how it stands so far:
  • 9th grade  80 demerits total
  • 10th grade  60 demerits total
  • 11th grade  25 demerits total
  • 12th grade  55 demerits total

Seniors,
This Thursday, you will be required to attend a SMART lunch meeting with Mr. Lineberger during either one of the SMART lunch sessions to discuss College applications.  Here are the details:
Who:  All seniors
When:  August 31
Where:  Room 3016 (basement at the opposite room of Mr. Hutchinson)
Time: you pick which SMART lunch session, available during both



Chromebooks:  If you have any issues with your Chromebook please email the IT department at chromebooks@hgchristian.org


Charging Station:  Is available in the high school office.


  • First use no consequence
  • Second use lunch detention assigned
  • Third use lunch detention assigned
  • Fourth and above after school detention assigned
  • Consistently forgetting to bring chromebook fully charged to school may result in more severe consequences.


Clubs:
Rho Kappa: All dues and forms for new members must be turned in by Friday, September 1st. No exceptions and no extensions.  New members, make sure your form is signed by you and a parent and you turn in your $20.00 dues with the form. Returning members do not need to turn in a form, but  returning members do need to pay the yearly $15.00 fee by September 1st to be in Rho Kappa again this year. Please see Mrs. Davis if you have any questions.

If you would like to design a t-shirt for the Dominican, submit your design request to michelewilson@hgchristian.org by September 11.


GUIDANCE OFFICE
STAY CONNECTED to the High School Guidance Office to receive important info about planning for college, taking the SAT or ACT, and celebrating with your classmates when they get accepted to a college or University!


SENIORS - Don’t forget to request transcripts as soon as you apply to a college!  You can request a transcript easily by using this link:

Varsity Women's Basketball Workouts
Off-season workouts for Varsity Women's Basketball will be held every Monday and Wednesday starting Wednesday, September 6th in Gym C and the Field House after school until 4:30pm. Any girls interested in attending Varsity Women's Basketball workouts should contact Assistant Coach Rhonda Williams at rhondawilliams@hgchristian.org.

Superhero Night at Varsity Football Friday
Next Friday, September 1st is Superhero Night at the Varsity Football home game against Concord First Assembly at 7:00pm! Students who dress for Superhero Night will be admitted to the game for just $1! Regular admission for the game is $5 (free for kids 10 & under).
